Polymer-modified bitumen emulsions are a specialized class of bituminous emulsions. Polymer-modified bitumens rank among the most advanced bitumen types used for microsurfacing applications. Production and usage specifications are governed by European Standards.
Specialized bitumen is required for high-traffic roads and regions experiencing significant day-night temperature fluctuations. These specialized bitumens can be produced at ATS Polymer-Modified Bitumen Plants in compliance with European Standards.
The use of modified bitumen results in pavement surfaces that offer:
• Greater water resistance,
• Enhanced resistance to crack formation and propagation,
• A binder with superior resistance to fatigue and permanent deformation in road pavements.
• Polymer-Modified Bitumen Plants are manufactured in two configurations: single-loop and multi-loop.
- Single-loop systems offer production capacities ranging from 4 to 25 t/h,
- Multi-loop systems offer production capacities ranging from 1 to 9 t/h.
In the Polymer-Modified Bitumen Plant:
The bitumen pipeline is fully insulated and heated using a thermal oil system equipped with precise temperature control.
Bitumen equipment, tanks, and pipelines are insulated to protect the system against corrosion, ensuring a longer service life for the plant.
Materials are prepared according to specific formulations using precision measurement devices such as load cells and flow meters.
PLC control enables system monitoring and optimization of system efficiency.
