Asphalt Content Ignition Furnace (NCAT)

The Asphalt Binder Analyzer machine is an automatic extractor of bituminous binder by ignition method, for a fast and precise determination of the percentage of binder in the bituminous mixture. This machine, with an advanced system combining ignition control with weighing and continuous measurement of the weight decrease of the bituminous mix, automatically controls the test, then detects the end of the test and measures the binder content.
One of the important properties of the device is that it has a second chamber (after-burner) with independent temperature control from the main furnace dramatically reduces the emissions.
The machine has been designed to be conforming to ASTM D6307 | EN 12697-39 | AASHTO TP53 .
The introduction of the sample baskets in the chamber is via the front door which has a safety switch which prevents its opening until the test is finished and prevents the unit working with the door open.
The control of the safety switch is made via a control panel mounted inside the unit.
The control panel contains the control logic, a touchscreen display which gives information concerning the function programs and a keyboard used by the operator to control the machine. The unit is fitted with safety devices which guarantee its correct working conditions at high temperatures.
OVEN AND AFTERBURNER
• High efficiency heating system with afterburner for a total combustion of exhaust fumes to minimize emissions to conform CE Directives.

• Test setting menu for initial weight, weight loss percentage, correction factor.

• Internal database for up to 100 tests.
SAFETY FEATURES
• Door safety features, such as a software-activated door lock, an automatic interlock that cuts power when door is open, full 180 degree door opening and door hinge lock eliminate harmful solvents and make operation easy. CE-Approved.
• Automatic monitoring of closed door before test start.
